Second funding period

Within the scope of the second funding phase of the BMBF funding programme “Zentren für Innovationskompetenz: Exzellenz schaffen - Talente sichern” (2016 – 2022), Septomics has been expanded by the two new junior research groups

  • NWG Translational Septomics
Prof. Dr. med. Sina Coldewey, PhD, ZIK-funding 2016-2022
  • NWG Host Fungal Interfaces
    Dr. Slavena Vylkova, ZIK-funding 2016-2022

In this way, among others, the translational research approach, in which clinical research and basic research are closely interconnected, and the research focus Invasive Fungal Infections were further strengthened. In addition, ZIK Septomics has developed into a sustainably valuable link between the supporting institutions, in particular the Leibniz-HKI and the University Hospital Jena. This is reflected not least in joint collaborative research projects, such as the DFG funded Collaborative Research Centres CRC/TR FungiNet and CRC PolyTarget as well as the BMBF funded “Leibniz Center for Photonics in Infection Research” (LPI).
