Research through intercultural diversity
The ZIK Septomics took part in the 7th Diversity Day on Ernst Abbe Campus of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena
04.06.2019

Research and work at the science campus Beutenberg is characterized by a high degree of internationality. This became clear at the joint information stand of several research institutes of the Beutenberg Campus, in which the ZIK Septomics was also involved, during the 7th German Diversity Day in the foyer of the Friedrich Schiller University, Carl-Zeiß-Str. 3. More than 3000 people work at Beutenberg Campus, 25% of them from more than 80 nations. At the ZIK Septomics, almost one fifth of the researchers come from abroad. On Tuesday, 28 May 2019, the Friedrich Schiller University had invited to inform visitors in workshops, join-in activities and lectures on diversity issues.
The nationwide initiative of the "Charter of Diversity" wants to emphasize the recognition, appreciation and inclusion of diversity in the world of work with the Day of Diversity. All employees should experience appreciation - regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age, sexual orientation and identity.
