Sina Coldewey appointed professor for clinical anesthesiology and translational intensive care medicine

Since September 1, 2020, Sina M. Coldewey, Head of junior research group (JRG) "Translational Septomics", is appointed professor for "Clinical Anesthesiology and Translational intensive Care Medicine“ at the Medical Faculty of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena. At the same time she took over as Head of the Division of Anaesthesiology, Clinic for Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, Jena University Hospital (UKJ), where she has been working as a senior physician for several years.
Since 2017 Prof. Coldewey has been head of the JRG „Translational Septomics“ focusing on the investigation of molecular mechanisms of pathogen-mediated organ dysfunction as well as the development of new therapeutic strategies in septic multiple organ failure and in hemolytic uremic syndrome.
With her team of physicians and scientists she combines basic research and clinical research, thus promoting the translation of research results from the laboratory to the clinic and vice versa.
