Sina Coldewey awarded the Charlotte Lehmann Foundation Research Prize

Sina Coldewey, head of NWG Translational Septomics and senior physician of the Clinic for Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care at the UKJ was awarded the Charlotte Lehmann Foundation Research Prize at the 21st Capital Congress of the German Society for Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Therapy in Berlin. Sina Coldewey received the prize for her scientific work on molecular mechanisms of the haemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS). The work entitled "Modeling Hemolytic-Uremic Syndrome: In-Depth Characterization of Distinct Murine Models Reflecting Different Features of Human Disease" was published in 2018 in the journal Frontiers in Immunology (Front Immunol. 9, 1459, doi: 10.3389/fimmu.2018.01459).
The Charlotte Lehmann Foundation Research Prize is awarded to female scientists for important work in the field of anaesthesiology, special anaesthesiological intensive medicine, pain therapy and emergency medicine. In addition to the originality of the work, the methodical approach and its realization, a special focus is placed on the importance of the work for clinical and/or basic research. In keeping with the significance of the prize, the personality of the prize winner will be honoured and her many years of commitment to anaesthesiological research will be honoured. The Charlotte Lehmann Foundation thus pursues the goal of supporting talented female doctors in their professional careers.
