Welcome at Septomics, Slavica Janevska!
10.05.2023

We are happy to welcome the new Junior Research Group "(Epi‑)Genetic Regulation of Fungal Virulence" of the Leibniz‑HKI headed by Dr. Slavica Janevska at Septomics. The group has moved into lab and office spaces of Septomics in April. Dr. Janevska and her team investigate the pathogenic fungi of the genus Fusarium, which can cause infections in humans. They focus on virulence factors and their regulation with the aim of developing new therapeutic and diagnostic approaches for the so‑called fusariosis. Thus, the group is a unique complement to the Septomics research focus of invasive fungal infections. The group will be funded by the Free State of Thuringia and the European Social Fund Plus for three years and closely collaborates with Dr. Grit Walther from the National Reference Center for Invasive Fungal Infections. We wish Slavica Janevska and her group every success!
